Amrop Portugal organized a lunch meeting with the theme “Angola”, one of the main centers for portuguese investment in the past decade. With this purpose, several personalities were invited, such as the Ambassador of Angola in Portugal and various entrepreneurs and managers who have developed and sustained businesses in Angola.

Amrop was able to bring together several prominent Angolan and Portugues figures, such as the ambassador of Angola in Portugal, José Marcos Barrica, the counsellor-minister of the Angolan Embassy in Portugal, António Albuquerque, the president of CCIPA, Carlos Bayan Ferreira, the president of Soares da Costa, Pedro Almeida Goncalves, the executive board member of Delta Group Rui Miguel Nabeiro, the investor Pedro Sampaio Nunes, the executive board member of Cimangola, Luis Vieira and Silva, the president of Hipogest, Hipólito Pires, the executive board member of Bank Millennium Angola, Miguel Maya, and the board member with Univer’s International area, António Vaz Branco. Also attending, but as hosts for this lunch were Amrop’s Partaners, Maria da Glória Ribeiro, Alexandra Ribas and Ricardo Gonçalves.

The reason behind this lunch was explained by Amrop’s Managing Partner, Maria da Glória Ribeiro – “We know the business world very well and understand its motivations. What we do is bring people together that have common interests and who have something to learn / teach from each other. We organize several meetings per year, always giving priority to a small number of guests and informality, assuring that people develop closer links and network”.

In fact, the main ingredients were precisely sharing experiences and exchanging knowledge, dealing with relevant and current affairs such as the energy issue, education, infra-structure, real estate and finance.

Other sensitive issues were also discussed, such as the situation regarding visas, double taxation of companies, and the difficulty in creating companies in Angola.

In conclusion, several interesting ideas came up that can easily be executed immediately, which greatly please the Ambassador Jose Marcos Barrica, who didn’t refrain from approaching all of the topics debated in a final intervention, thanking the organization of such meetings and suggesting that more should be held.
